Dental Anatomy and Terminology
Students will learn dental anatomy and terminology. Dentition, names, numbers, surfaces, both primary and permanent. OHSA requirements, sterilization procedures, autoclaving of instruments and disinfection of treatment areas.

Back Office and Procedure Set Ups
Students will learn instrument identification and receive hands on training in four-handed dental assisting for important procedures, such as fillings, crowns, root canals, sealants, oral surgery, and orthodontics. Students will receive training on CPR, vitals, intraoral camera, clinical charting, and periodontal pocket charting. Students will perform live coronal polishing on permanent and primary dentition.
60 Clock Hours
Front Office Training
Front office training will intel learning how to work the front desk in the dental office. Hands on training with Dentrix dental software, scheduling patients, how to answer phone calls, and entering insurance information.
12 Clock Hours
Impressions and Models
Hands on training with impression materials, trimming lab models, and fabricating bleach trays and mouth guards. Students will learn about teeth whitening in this segment along with how the appointment goes and what the dental assistants roll is with teeth whitening.

Dental Radiography
Students will learn the importance of radiation safety, precautions, exposure errors, anatomy, intraoral and extraoral radiographs, infection control and how to use different types of film holders. Students will also gain hands on training with digital radiography equipment.

Job Placement Support
Job placement presentation. Interviewing skills on how to prepare for a job interview, including proper dress, do’s and don’ts of an interview, resume preparation and a professional head shot.

Open Procedure Week
Open procedure week will allow you to work on any procedure learned during the program to give you more confidence before you complete the Academy.

If you are interested in signing up for the Dental Assistant Program we need the following:

A valid ID

Completion of an Admission Interview (Done at the time you tour the school)

Must be at least 16 years of age (Under the age of 18 - Must have parental or guardian consent and signature)

High School Diploma, GED, Transcripts, or equivalent. Prospective students who do not have the following, must have a letter of recommendation.

Sign the Student Enrollment Agreement, Release of Liability, and Infection Control Policy

Options
We offer 6 payment options to help you out with payments, view below and choose the best option for you.
1.
Payment in full of cash, money order, cashier’s check, or credit card. Includes a 5% off discount if paid in full in one transaction.
2.
Three monthly payments, interest free, paid directly to Desert Dental & Health Academy with the Registration Fee of $200.00 put down to hold your seat. (First payment due by the first day of class, and every 30 days thereafter.)
3.
Seven Monthly Payments, interest free, paid directly to Desert Dental & Health Academy with a deposit of $2000.00. Deposit is due prior to the first day of class. ($200.00 of the deposit goes toward the Registration Fee.) (The first monthly payment is due 30 days after the first day of class and every 30 days thereafter.)
4.
Private Student Loan secured by the student through Paramount Capital Group (Needs to qualify). If qualified, a registration Fee of $200.00 is required to hold your seat. Must apply online:
